Game Recap

Nearly six months in the making, Edgewood took their first true road trip in program history traveling to Catalina Island to take on Avalon High School. Avalon High School recently came off a 64-55 victory over Vaughn in the Catalina Classic. Earlier in the season Vaughn defeated the Lions 66-63 at the Northeast Valley Tournament which added more anticipation to this non-conference matchup.

Once again the Lions got off to a hot start thanks to their ball movement against the Avalon zone. However, it was junior guard Ardy Peralta who provided big moments for the Lions in the early going.

Leading by 13 at the half, the Lions increased their lead to 22 points into the early stages of the third quarter going on a 9-0 run. The Lions never looked back as they defeated the Lancers 65-45. Other contributors included Niko Yamamoto and Sebastian Andrade who both contributed with double figures.

The Lions white hot streak continues at 11-2 with a very tough Southlands Christian on the horizon. Last year the Lions defeated the Eagles 67-61 at home. This year, the Lions bring the fight to Walnut as the Eagles are coming off a 22 point victory of Miramonte League foe Garey High School. Tip-off is scheduled Wednesday December 28 at 5:30 p.m.
